The Centre was founded in 1993 by our Spiritual Director the late Ven Geshe Damchö Yönten la with the objective of disseminating Lord Buddha’s Teachings so to provide a resource for those seeking meaning in their lives. Many gifted teachers have taught at the Centre over the years since its inception including the 102nd Ganden Tripa the head of The Gelupga lineage His Eminence Rizong Rinpoche

We where extremely fortunate to have His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama bless the Lam Rim Centre when he visited South Africa in 2004.

The Dalai Lama’s blessing is believed to infuse the space with positive energy and spiritual potency.

The presence and blessing of the Dalai Lama symbolize the endorsement and support of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. It signifies that the Centre is aligned with the values and teachings of Tibetan Buddhism.

In Tibetan Buddhism, rituals and blessings are considered to have the power to remove obstacles, purify negative influences, and create auspicious conditions. The Dalai Lama’s blessing is a potent ritual that is believed to bring these benefits.
